Do we dare continue the grading?
This next group may be on their way to becoming Beal Bears someday:
- Nick Heizer – D- – not worthy of the LVB, but batting 491 and striking out 3 times while leading off for Ditka… come on dude
- Chris Coffee – A – Solid season by Coffee
- Jake Rankin –C+ – 6 errors is not bad at all playing 3rd base… but batting 500 is not good either
- Clint Lee – A+ – great average, great defense and key hits make him a good-strong
- Big Matt – B+ – keeps climbing the Bears charts with his greatness on the web site… and plays good softball sometimes too.
- Howie Vicars – B+ – tells such beautiful stories and tries real hard
- Eli Jordan – A – Doesn’t seem to like Scooter or Nick, but knocks the crap out of the ball
Not 500 club members, but Real Bears nontheless:
- James Drake – A+ – one of the best Drake seasons ever
- Alan Smith – B – average dropped, but he walked 7 times and plays the good defense. Also, Alan is probably older than everyone else’s fathers on all of our rosters
- Tim Wallis – A+ – shouldn’t have quit the team… great season though in less ab’s than he should get from now on.
- Scott Austin – A+ – MVB contender in most seasons with these #’s. RBI leader, and among leaders in runs and average
- Colby Horton – B – rebounded from striking out in his first 2 abs of the season and had a very nice Colby-season
- Danny Bullard – A+ – good pitcher man and made stuff happen at the plate. His best season ever with DaBears.
- David Peters – C – luckily for him, there were some really shitty seasons, otherwise his 429 would have gotten a lot more Spradlin and LVB hype
- Mark Simmons – incomplete – only played against us in 1 game, but he is always welcome to come back and play with DaBears
- Tim Carlisle – incomplete – See Mark Simmons comment
We now turn to the spares of the Franchise:
- John Maher – Incomplete – batted 500 in 6 abs and decided to quit while he was ahead
- Tim Perez – F – we expect a lot more out of Tim… should we though?
- Razz – A+ – opposite of Slim… one of the best starts to a Bears career
- Bryan Brown – B – only Bear to get hurt during warm-ups… that we know of
- Scooter – C – would have led the free world in errors if he had played a full season
- Slim Paul Checkeye – D – one of the worst starts to a Bears career ever… owes thanks to Bobby who went 1 for 9 before he was not told the date/time of any future games
We start with the Rocks of the Franchise:
- Wagnon – B – Great numbers for most people, but sub-par for the greatest hitter in our team’s history
- Jeffrey – B+ – Came back from a horrible start to finish right below his lifetime average
- Jimmy – A+ – Best season of his career
- Matt – Incomplete… need to have more at bats than freakin Razz or Scooter to register a grade
- Teddy – Incomplete – read the Devil’s comments on Teddy’s Bio Page… that tells the whole story.
- Neven – D- – Struggglllinnggg…
- Worm – Incomplete also, but his Bears/Cubs shenanigans were Pure Worm Greatness
- Bo – B – Still hit respectable, but like Wagnon – hit well below his average. Still played great D.
- Kaby – B – 460 average is just about what we’ve come to expect. He makes the most of his 46% though!
